Salvage & Equipment Technician (Heavy-Duty Trucks) Position
Duties include: Perform hands-on salvage, disassembly, and processing of Class 7–8 commercial trucks and components; operate telehandlers or similar heavy industrial lifting equipment to lift, move, and stage trucks, frames, axles, and parts in outdoor and shop environments; remove debris, spoiled materials, bodily fluids, and contaminated refuse from truck cabs and work areas; clean vehicles, components, and shop areas using industrial pressure washers, vacuums, and approved chemicals; measure, identify, and stage salvaged parts using standard tools; perform physically demanding work including lifting, bending, kneeling, crouching, and working under trucks; assist with shop upkeep, spill response, and safe handling of high-value components; follow established safety procedures and work instructions.
This position requires 3 years of experience in heavy-duty truck mechanical, salvage, or maintenance work involving Class 7–8 trucks, including at least one year of industrial shop cleaning or maintenance in environments with oil, grease, dust, or heavy shop conditions; experience operating telehandlers or similar heavy industrial lifting equipment; ability to perform industrial cleaning, safely handle contaminated materials, and use standard measuring tools; ability to perform physically demanding work under trucks in dirty or hazardous conditions; ability to follow established safety procedures and work instructions.
